MEET ROHIN

BUILDING A COMPUTER IS CHILD’S PLAY

Rohin Mukherjee, the Grade 5 student who built a computer.

Rohin Mukherjee, the Grade 5 student who built a computer.

Name:  Rohin Mukherjee. Rohin means “someone who is moving forward/ascending in the journey of life”.  My parents thought it was interesting, uncommon, and easy for everyone to pronounce. Also, many kids get their names altered in school. But it would be hard to alter, or shorten this one.  Right before I was born, Dad actually got some kids to say it to see how they were pronouncing it.

Currently: I am a Grade 5 student. Quarantined and bored, I built a working desktop PC from scratch. I installed the processor, memory, and stock air cooler before mounting the motherboard in the case.  Then, I installed the power supply and graphics card, and did a little cable management, after which, I plugged in my drives, booted to BIOS, and installed Windows 10 off a Windows 10 installation media USB drive that I had prepared earlier. It took me just under two hours to build.
