CANADIAN CRICKETER MAKES HIS MARK

Canada’s hard-hitting batsman Ravinderpal Singh was drafted by Colombo Kings as one of its overseas player selections for the 2020 Lanka Premier League (LPL).

As a member of the Colombo Kings Squad, Singh played alongside former Sri Lankan captain Angelo Matthews, South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and the West Indies T20 icon Andre Russell. 

Born on October 14, 1988, in New Delhi, Ravindrapal Singh made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Canada against the Cayman Islands in 2019.

On debut he scored 101 runs from 48 balls to become the first ever Canadian batsman to score a century in a T20I match.

He was also the first cricketer to score a century on his T20I debut.

He was named to Canada’s squad for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia and has played for Canada against Papua New Guinea.

He was in Canada’s squad for the 2019 Malaysia Cricket World Cup Challenge tournament.
