TCF IS TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION

Toronto Calcutta Foundation opened an education centre for Native (Adivasi) children in West Bengal, India, in April 2020.

Currently, there are 80 children aged 5 to 17 years enrolled in the school. Three students from this TCF Education Centre have passed the secondary examination and are now enrolled for higher secondary education.

Unable to hold their two annual fundraising events due to COVID restrictions – the annual gala dinner and the talent show bring in close to $80,000 – TCF has been running these recent programs in deficit. Generous supporters and funds held over from previous events for such contingencies helped fill the gaps.
