SUMMER SKIES: A FESTIVAL OF DANCE AND MUSIC

Sampradaya Dance Creations invites you to the fiffth edition of Summer Skies, a vibrant two-day outdoor celebration of rhythm, movement, and melody, taking place on July 4 and 5 at Streetsville Village Square, Mississauga.

Previously also held at the historic Benares House, a heritage site in Mississauga, and now at Village Square with the support of Streetsville BIA, the free, public festival brings artistes and audiences together to honour art, celebrate community, and experience the transformative power of dance and music – under the open summer skies.

Curated with care, this year’s Summer Skies features an exciting lineup of musicians and dancers, representing a range of art forms.

The program includes live music and dance, interdisciplinary collaborations, and special showcases, reflecting Sampradaya’s commitment to creating platforms for cultural dialogue and artistic explorations. This year’s lineup includes around 20 dance and music groups, spanning genres and generations.

Artistic Director Suma Suresh shares, “Over the last five years, Summer Skies has become one of Sampradaya’s most cherished annual programs. It really is a celebration of what makes Mississauga such a vibrant and dynamic city – its people, its diversity, and its artistic spirit. What began as an initiative to bring artists and audiences back together as we emerged from the isolation of the pandemic years has grown into a vibrant annual festival that artistes and audiences alike look forward to each summer. We are delighted to welcome audiences back to gather, connect, and celebrate the arts!”
