TCF’S FUNDRAISER IS BACK!

At Toronto Calcutta Foundation‘s well-attended annual gala this year.

Toronto Calcutta Foundation (TCF) held their gala recently after the hiatus imposed by the pandemic-related restrictions.

Shirsha Chakraborty opened the gala by singing the Canadian National Anthem followed two more songs.

Shouvik Mazumdar, president, welcomed all guests.

In his keynote address, Rahul Singh, the founder of Global Medic, highlighted their efforts at supplying PPE to Kolkata for TCF. He also touched on the cyclone in the Eastern Canada.

Two dancers from Arthur Murray Studio entertained the guests with Flamingo and other dances.

The event, that raises funds for TCF’s initiatives in India and Canada raised $35,000.

This was below the target of $50,000, but remarkable, seeing the constraints under which it was held, with significant hesitancy among many about participating in large indoor events.
