There’s something about September that makes us want to start something new. “This fall, Brampton Library invites you to explore our Back to Learning campaign, your gateway to free learning resources for all ages and stages of life,” says Brent Wilson, Manager of Collections. “Whether you’re building early literacy and math skills, looking for online tutoring, exploring career opportunities, upskilling, or diving into hobbies like crafting or genealogy, we have something for everyone.”

For young learners, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten helps prepare children for reading, Decodable Books uses a phonics-based approach to improve reading fluency and comprehension, and Vox Books features a reading device which transforms an ordinary print book into a read-along, making education interactive and fun. In-person programs like Family Storytime, French Storytime, and Storytime Adventures encourages reading and enjoying stories together.

For early and middle grade students, there are in person programs like Kids Discovery Club and borrowable items like STEM at Home Packs, which encourage a love of science and exploration. Digital resources like Brainfuse HelpNow, a great tool to access live on-demand homework help from professional tutors for free, and Teen Book Cloud, an online collection of books, are available on-demand without checkouts and waitlists.

For high school and post-secondary students, resources like Brainfuse HelpNow and Brainfuse JobNow give free access to live professional tutoring and job coaching. Programs like Coffee ‘n’ Code, Getting started with TinkerCAD, Climate Book Club, and #GamersatBL: Switch and Play, are a great place to explore your curiosity with expert help and socialize.
