MEET Alyssia

SHE’S BACK WITH A NEW ALBUM, HEART BEATZ

Alyssia made her debut in 2000 with a string of both Hindi and South Indian film hits including Ishq Hua, Mujhe Kuch Tumse Hai Kehna, Inde Siripinai and Vaishnav Janato from the movie Hey Ram. She released her first album Mehndi with HMV and the album’s success took her across India, performing at sell-out concerts. She went on to sign up with some producers in the UK to release her self-titled second album, Alyssia, tracks from which hit the coveted number one spot in Asian music charts across the UK and Europe.

Then it was time to add a new string to her bow and take the natural next step by composing her own songs. Now she’s back with her new album, Heart Beatz. The first track, Kyun Mera, showcases her vocals and combines beautiful lyrics with a catchy melody. The result of three years of hard work and an exciting network of collaborators and producers supporting her is a very personal album. The seven-track album showcases Alyssia’s range and her desire to try her hand at different genres that she loves – from drum and bass to dance.

“This album has been a true labour of love and a very exciting journey of discovery for me,” she says. “Writing lyrics and composing music has been such a great experience and I loved every minute of it. Fans of the original Alyssia will not be disappointed – I have stayed true to my roots with a lot of the tracks, but I also wanted to experiment and reach out to fans of other genres of music. I hope they enjoy listening to the album as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
The first track Kyun Mera released in June via iTunes, Amazon and all other digital stores.
